If you need to sharpen your sword or repair your armour.. ok not in these actual days but not that long ago just behind Bab jedid, one of the few still standing medieval gate of the old medina of Tunis, there is the blacksmiths alley with small artisans working the metal in a not that modern way.

Walking by this alley, still feels the authenticity of their ancestral way of work and equipment.

Although many of the blacksmiths are friendly and talkative, many of them don’t like being photographed nor their shops, arguing that some people come to steal their creations and work.

Nevertheless some of them accepted to let me take some photos.
