Sidi Belhassen Chedly is one of the most known and iconic soufi Saints of Tunis.
His Zewya was at first his monastery where is meditates in one of the highest hill of Tunis.
After his death the Zewya became his mausoleum and still visited by people looking for mysticism.
The lower part of the hill is Jellez cemetery, the upper part is some sort of small necropolis but with medieval islamic architecture where are buried other saints and important people.
Fun historical fact: Sidi Belhassen Chedly is know to be the first to bring coffee in Tunisia.
They used to serve coffee in his monastery until this day, so this Zewya is, technically, the first and oldest coffee shop still active in Tunisia.
