Built in 1696 by Romdhane Bey,  who spent less than 2 years in it before being beheaded.

legend says that the head of Romdhane Bey rolled in this very house court.

Then the palace passes through several owners,  the last one of them gave it it’s last name:  Dar Jouini.

The palace remained closed for more than a decade, it seems that now it will be renewed and transformed into a luxurious guest house.
